Selection procedures for students at universities, technical universities and comprehensive universities.
Twice a year, we select the students at universities, technical universities and comprehensive universities who will receive a scholarship.
The deadlines for recommendations and individual applications are March 1 and September 1.

To evaluate the subject specific academic aptitude of applicants in a qualified and fair way, initial academic achievements from a degree course must be available – at the respective deadline, one semester of study must have been completed. The selection committee meets at the end of the semester of each application period, so that they can base their decision on two semesters’ academics achievements.
At the time of application, applicants must have at least five semesters of study before them. For students currently taking a Bachelor’s degree, the four semester Master’s phase is included in the average course duration.
After the successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree, application is possible right before the initiation of a four semester Master’s degree.

The following documents are required for the selection process:
- A certificate of qualification for university matriculation (Abitur)
- Initial university certificates (if available),
- Professional opinions from two university professors
- A detailed curriculum vitae
- A reference from student or university parish.
Please send these documents only when requested during the selection process.
The Cusanuswerk attaches great value to getting to know the person making the achievements, rather than just comparing the achievements on their own. This is why a personal interview with a member of our academic staff is part of the selection procedure for each applicant. An interdisciplinary committee of university professors decides ultimately about the selection of scholarship recipients.
